Abstract: IoT-Based Industrial Equipment Monitoring System for Predictive Maintenance ABSTRACT The present invention relates to the Internet of Things (IoT)-based industrial equipment monitoring system for predictive maintenance. The system is made up of several sensors placed on the industrial machines to measure the operational parameters such as temperature, vibration, pressure, electrical current, voltage, rotation speed, acoustic signals, and lubricant condition. The sensed data is acquired, conditioned, digitized, and time-stamped on a data-acquisition unit, and the data is then filtered, extracted, analysed for local anomalies, and temporarily stored on an edge-computing device. Processed data is sent to a central system or cloud through a wired or wireless communication network. An analytical engine uses machine learning, statistical analysis and threshold analysis to detect abnormal operating conditions, forecast emerging failures, assess equipment condition and forecast the remaining useful life. If a potential failure is detected, the system provides alerts, severity and maintenance recommendations to authorized personnel. Real-time measurements, historical trends, fault probabilities, maintenance records and equipment-health scores are presented on a graphical dashboard. The system can communicate with industrial control systems and computer-assisted maintenance-management systems, for automating work-order generation and protective actions. The invention can help detect faults early, minimize unplanned downtime, optimize maintenance scheduling, maximize equipment life, ensure equipment safety in use, and lower maintenance cost in industrial facilities. Scalable for single machines, production lines and distributed assets.
