The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT IOT-BASED HOSPITAL ASSET TRACKING SYSTEM USING BLE BEACONS AND RFID An IoT-based hospital asset tracking system (100) using BLE beacon tags (110) on mobile medical equipment (220) and fixed BLE reader nodes (120) for continuous room-level location monitoring. RFID readers (130) at zone boundary points provide high-confidence ward and lift lobby transition records. A location inference engine (140) applies a weighted nearest-neighbour algorithm to RSSI values for room-level accuracy, supplemented by RFID boundary confirmations. An alert subsystem (160) dispatches notifications when equipment exits authorised zones or exceeds configurable idle time thresholds. A utilisation reporting module (170) computes equipment duty cycles, idle time, and cross-ward movement patterns. A hospital asset management dashboard (180) provides real-time location maps and search functionality. [
