Abstract: The present invention discloses an IoT-enabled, foot-operated high-speed flat knitting machine (100) incorporating an integrated sensor network (200) comprising a carriage speed sensor (201), yarn tension sensor (202), needle bed vibration sensor (203), stitch density sensor (204), and ambient temperature-humidity sensor (205), all communicatively connected to a microcontroller unit (300). An electromagnetic braking assembly (112) mounted on the drive shaft (117) provides adaptive speed regulation, maintaining carriage velocity between 0.8 and 1.5 m/s despite operator pedalling variations. A wireless communication module (210) transmits real-time sensor data via MQTT protocol to a cloud server (400), where machine-learning-based analytics enable predictive maintenance. A mobile application (410) and web dashboard (420) facilitate remote monitoring and alert generation. Performance evaluation demonstrated a 77.9% reduction in stitch irregularity, an 89.5% reduction in dropped-stitch events, and a 15.6% improvement in fabric bursting strength compared with conventional operation, while successfully enabling early detection of cam wear.
