Abstract: An IoT-based flood early warning and automated sluice gate control system is disclosed. The system comprises a primary water-level sensor, a redundant water- condition sensor, a controller, a communication module, a monitoring interface, and a motorized sluice gate assembly. The controller processes successive water-level measurements, filters fluctuations, cross-verifies the measurements using the redundant sensor, and determines a validated water level. The validated level is compared with predefined thresholds to classify a water condition into safe, warning, and danger stages. According to the classified stage, the controller automatically adjusts the sluice gate through progressively different opening positions for controlled water discharge. A GSM communication module provides SMS and voice-call alerts to registered recipients. Local indicators provide condition information, while a web-based dashboard displays water level, gate position, sensor status, and alert history. The system thereby integrates reliable flood detection, warning communication, remote monitoring, and automated physical flood-control response. (Accompanied Figure No. 1)
