Abstract: Battery-related fire accidents in electric bikes have emerged as a significant safety concern due to factors such as overheating, overcharging, short circuits, and thermal runaway. These incidents can result in severe damage to vehicles, property, and human life, highlighting the need for an effective monitoring and early warning system. To address this challenge, an loT-based Electric Bike Fire Detection and Monitoring System has been designed and developed to provide real-time monitoring, early hazard detection, and remote supervision of battery conditions. The • proposed system consists of a sensing unit and an loT monitoring unit. The sensing unit integrates a temperature sensor, flame sensor, voltage sensor; and current sensor, all controlled by a NodeMCU I Arduino microcontroller. The temperature sensor continuously monitors battery heat levels, while the flame sensor detects the presence of fire. The voltage and current sensors track battery performance and identifY. abnormal electrical conditions such as overloads, overcharging, and short circuits. The collected sensor data is processed by the microcontroller and analysed against predefined safety thresholds. The loT monitoring unit enables wireless transmission of real-time data to a cloud platform, allowing users to remotely monitor battery health through a mobile or web application. Whenever abnormal conditions are detected, the . system immediately generates alerts and notifications, enabling users to take preventive action before a hazardous situation develops. One of the key features of the system is its ability to provide continuous monitoring and instant warning capabilities while maintaining a compact and cost-effective design. The system also supports data logging for future analysis and maintenance planning. By integrating loT technology with intelligent sensing, the proposed solution enhances battery safety, improves operational reliability, and promotes the safe adoption of electric bike technology.
