Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an IoT-based edge intelligent predictive maintenance and fault prevention system for a DC motor using a Raspberry Pi. The system continuously monitors critical parameters including temperature, current, voltage, and vibration through multiple sensors. The acquired data is processed locally at the edge device using sensor fusion and adaptive baseline modeling to establish normal motor behavior and detect deviations indicative of incipient faults. Unlike conventional threshold-based systems, the invention enables predictive fault detection by analyzing interrelationships and trends among multiple parameters, allowing early identification of electrical and mechanical faults. Upon detection of abnormal or critical conditions, the system automatically activates a cooling fan and may shut down the motor through relay control to prevent damage. Real-time status is displayed on an LCD and transmitted to a remote user via an IoT module and mobile application. The edge-based architecture ensures low latency, reliability, and reduced dependency on cloud connectivity.
