MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641079936 A) filed by Sona College Of Technology on June 29, 2026, for Iot Based Data Acquistion System For Muscle Movement Using Semg Sensor.
Inventors include Jaya Krishna A P; Prasidhika J; and Sujitha S.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an Internet of Things (IoT)-based muscle movement monitoring and data acquisition system (100) utilizing surface electromyography (sEMG) technology for real-time assessment of muscle activity. The system comprises surface electrodes (110), an sEMG sensor module (120), a signal conditioning circuit (130), a microcontroller unit (140), a local display unit (150), a wireless communication module (160), and a cloud platform (170). Bioelectrical signals generated during muscle contraction are acquired through the surface electrodes (110), amplified and filtered by the signal conditioning circuit (130), and converted into digital signals by the microcontroller unit (140). The microcontroller unit (140) processes the signals to determine muscle activity parameters including root mean square (RMS) value, peak amplitude, and muscle performance percentage. The processed information is displayed locally and simultaneously transmitted to the cloud platform (170) for remote monitoring, storage, and visualization. The invention provides a portable, cost-effective, and scalable solution for physiotherapy, rehabilitation, sports performance evaluation, and remote healthcare monitoring.
