Abstract: The present invention relates to an IOT-based car accident prevention and driver drowsiness detection system that combines proactive driver drowsiness detection with intelligent crash recognition. Using a smartphone’s front camera, vision-based algorithms analyze eye-blink frequency and eye openness in real time to identify fatigue and issue immediate alerts, helping prevent accidents before they occur. In parallel, an ESP32 microcontroller continuously monitors vehicle dynamics through accelerometer and vibration sensors to detect abnormal impacts or collisions. Upon confirmation of a crash, the system autonomously initiates emergency communication by placing calls and sending SMS messages containing live GPS coordinates to predefined contacts, ensuring rapid assistance. By proactively reducing accident risks and minimizing emergency response time, this invention delivers a practical and powerful safety solution for modern transportation.
