Abstract: An electrical power distribution system consists of geneiating, stations, transmission lines, substations, transformers, and distribution feeders. A substation receives electrical power and distributes it to consumers through multiple feeders. The electrical load on each feeder is not constant. It changes according to consumer demand, time of day, weather, industrial activity, and other factors. During peak-load conditions, one feeder may become overloaded while another feeder has sufficient unused capacity. Continuous overloading can result in: Excessive current, Increased losses, Excessive temperature rise, Voltage drop , Reduced equipment life, Protective relay operation, Supply interruption An IoT-based automatic load-sharing system solves this problem by continuously monitoring feeder parameters and automatically transferring suitable loads between interconnected feeders when operating conditions permit. The IoT system also allows the operator to monitor the electrical network remotely through a web dashboard or mobile application. The system measures the loading of different feeders using current and voltage sensors. The measurements are processed by a controller such as an industrial PLC, RTU, or suitable embedded controller. IoT connectivity can then transmit the data to a cloud/server/dashboard. When the controller detects that one feeder is approaching or exceeding its permissible loading level, it checks whether another interconnected feeder has sufficient spare capacity. If all required electrical and protection conditions are satisfied, the system operates the appropriate switching devices to redistribute the load.
