Abstract: The loT-based automated ram alert system for urban areas is designed to provide real-time monitoring and early warning of rainfall events. Rapid urbanization and changing weather conditions have increased the occurrence of sudden rainfall, leading to traffic congestion, 5 waterlogging, property damage, and public inconvenience. The proposed system addresses these challenges through continuous environmental monitoring and automated alert generation. The system incorporates an fc-37 rain sensor for rainfall detection, a dht22 sensor for measuring temperature and humidity, a raspberry pi pica w microcontroller for data processing, and a lora sx 1278 communication module for long~range data transmission. The sensors continuously collect 10 environmental information and transmit it to the microcontroller for analysis. When rainfall is detected, the system activates a buzzer, updates the display unit, and sends alert information to remote monitoring stations. The system solution enables timely decision-making by providing accurate and instant rainfall notifications. It supports traffic management, disaster preparedness, and urban infrastructure monitoring. The system offers advantages such as low power 15 consumption, real-time operation, long-distance communication, and easy deployment. By enhancing weather monitoring capabilities, the system contributes to public safety, improved urban resilience, and the development of smart city applications.
