Abstract: TITLE: 10T-BASED AUTOMATED DETECTION OF SHORT CIRCUIT AND 5 VOLTAGE DEFLECTION FOR ESDN IN UNDERGROUND CABLES The titled invention discloses an loT-enabled intelligent system for real-time detection and classification of faults in underground cables of an electrical secondary distribution network. The system comprises a sensor module (1) including voltage and current 10 sensors for continuous monitoring of electrical parameters, a microcontroller unit (2) for signal acquisition and preprocessing, an edge computing unit (3) configured to execute a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) for intelligent fault classification, a LoRa communication module (4) for long-range wireless transmission of fault information, a relay protection unit (5) for automatic isolation of faulty cable sections, a display and 15 monitoring interface (6) for local and centralized visualization of system status, and a power supply and load section (7) for powering the system and maintaining uninterrupted supply to healthy network sections. By integrating edge computing, machine learning, real-time communication, and automated protection into a unified architecture, the invention enables rapid fault detection, minimizes false alarms, 20 reduces response time, enhances network reliability, and supports predictive maintenance with low implementation cost.
