Abstract: IOT based adaptive crop recommendation system is an IoT-based solution developed to assist farmers in making informed decisions about crop selection. The system uses a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B as the central controller to collect and process real-time data from multiple sensors. A capacitive soil moisture sensor, connected through an ADS1115 Analog-to-Digital Converter, is used to measure soil moisture levels. Environmental parameters such as air temperature and humidity are measured using a DHT11 sensor, while soil temperature is monitored using a DS18B20 waterproof temperature sensor. When activated using a push button, the system collects sensor data over a fixed interval and calculates average values to improve accuracy. The processed data is analyzed using predefined conditions to determine the most suitable crop for cultivation, such as rice, maize, wheat, or cotton. The results are displayed on a 16×2 LCD screen and stored in a CSV file for further analysis and monitoring through a web dashboard. Additionally, the system includes an alert mechanism using LEDs and a buzzer to indicate unfavorable soil conditions. This project provides a low-cost, efficient, and user-friendly solution for smart agriculture by enabling real-time monitoring, improving crop selection, and optimizing the use of resources such as water and soil nutrients.
