Abstract: An IoT and AI-based energy monitoring system for a community with entire home appliances control provides a scalable, multi-tier framework for automated load telemetry, device identification, and remote electrical management. The architecture consists of a distributed grid of smart consumer switchboards equipped with an embedded computing unit (ESP32) that interfaces with dedicated current and voltage sensors to capture the telemetry data of distinct appliance loads, designated as Load_1 [10], Load_2 [11], Load_3 [12], through Load_n [13]. The smart switchboards broadcast these sampled parameters via local Bluetooth communication to regional coordinator modules, which route the aggregated streams through a central Wi-Fi gateway [30] to a secure cloud server [40]. If an internet outage happens, the system stores data within internal EEPROM memory to prevent loss, automatically syncing back with the cloud once network connectivity is re-established. An artificial intelligence module processes the aggregated cloud data to profile consumer footprints, recognize active household appliance types, and calculate estimated costs. Authenticated remote users (User 1 to User P) track live parameters via an application layer [50] and selectively toggle individual circuits using integrated relay modules to control appliances and minimize standby power waste.
