Abstract: Disclosed is an ionic liquid-supramolecular phytochemical extraction apparatus comprising a support housing, a precursor supply unit, an ionic liquid metering unit, a water induction unit, a nano-assembly conduit, a plant extraction module, and a recovery module. The precursor supply unit supplies an amphiphilic solvent precursor dispersed in an organic medium. The ionic liquid metering unit introduces an ionic liquid into the amphiphilic solvent precursor and organic medium to form a hybrid solvent precursor. The water induction unit introduces water through a restricted water outlet. The nano-assembly conduit defines a residence path that retains the hybrid solvent precursor during formation of a nanostructured hybrid extraction medium before contact with plant-derived biological material. The plant extraction module passes the nanostructured hybrid extraction medium through the plant-derived biological material. The recovery module separates residual plant material from a phytochemical-enriched portion of the nanostructured hybrid extraction medium.
