Abstract: Inversion-Responsive BioReactive Façade System for Active Urban Atmospheric Pollution Mitigation This invention describes a self- regenerating, inversion-responsive BioReactive Urban Membrane façade system configured for active atmospheric pollution mitigation in urban environments. The system integrates environmental sensing, AI-based control, and multi-stage pollutant treatment mechanisms within a building façade. Upon detection of atmospheric inversion conditions characterized by elevated pollutant concentration and airflow stagnation, the system activates localized airflow induction to draw polluted air toward the façade surface. Aerodynamic surface structures enhance particulate interception, while electrostatic trapping mechanisms capture suspended particles. Gaseous pollutants are decomposed through photocatalytic oxidation, and residual carbon compounds are assimilated via biological processes generating oxygen and biomass. A thermoelectric condensation mechanism enables capture of ultrafine particulates under high humidity conditions. The system further incorporates self-regeneration through automated cleaning and biological renewal, along with electrochromic visualization for real-time air quality indication. The invention transforms building envelopes into active, adaptive air purification interfaces.
