MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101353 A) filed by Kishore Narain Khanna on August 21, 2026, for Intravenous Catheter Assembly And Method Of Manufacturing Thereof.

Inventor includes Kishore Narain Khanna.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an intravenous catheter assembly (100) comprising a mandrel assembly (10) having a hub (12) and an elongated body (14) with a proximal portion (16) and a distal portion (18); a slip ring (20) having an annular shape and comprising a holder (22) and a cylindrical body (24) with a proximal end (26) and a distal end (28) wherein the outer surface of the cylindrical body (24) is defined by a frustoconical taper such that the outer diameter (ØD) at the distal end (28) is greater than the outer diameter (ØC) at the proximal end (26) and the inner surface of the cylindrical body (24) resembles the distal portion (18) of the elongated body (14); and a substantially linear intravenous catheter (30) having an elongated, annular body (32) with a proximal tip (34) and a distal tip (36); wherein the distal tip (36) of the intravenous catheter (30) expands radially and forms a cold interference fit with the slip ring (20) when the intravenous catheter (30) advances towards the distal end (28) of the cylindrical body (24) with the help of mechanical force.
