Abstract: The intraoperative fluid collection pouch of present invention enables a receiving opening configuration which facilitates efficient interception and collection of fluids, irrigation solutions, blood, tissue debris, and other aspirated materials generated during a surgical procedure. The body 100 may be divided into an upper section 30 a middle section 40 and a lower section 50. The upper section 30 comprises of a collection region around the mouth 105 of the pouch 10 which enables easy collection of the fluid or surgical material into the middle section 40 of the said pouch 10. The said upper section 30 is enabled with an assembly comprising of a plurality of support members and plurality of cushioning members which ensure a steady opened mouth 105 along with steady shape-retention such that the flow of liquid and or tissues in the pouch remains uninterrupted during or after a procedure. The upper section is configured such that the collected fluids are directed by gravity toward the middle section 40 and thereby to lower section 50. The lower section 50 comprises of a lower collection region and an outlet assembly fluidly coupled to the lower collection region and is configured to facilitate drainage, sampling, transfer, or controlled discharge of collected fluid from the pouch body 100.
