Abstract: ABSTRACT INTERCHANGEABLE CONNECTOR INTERFACE FOR UNIVERSAL ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING AND POWER EXTRACTION A power transfer system (100) for an electric vehicle (EV) is disclosed, comprising an EV-cable assembly (106) having an EV-side charging gun (102) at a first end and a first modular connector (108) at a second end, and at least one replaceable power assembly (100A–100E) having a second modular connector (110a–110e) configured to mate with the first modular connector (108). A Proximity Pilot (PP) line (326, 426) extends from the EV-side charging gun (102) to the first modular connector (108). At least one impedance element (340a, 440a) is disposed within the replaceable power assembly (100A–100E) and is electrically coupled between a corresponding PP line (426a) and a corresponding Protective Earth (PE) line (428a). Upon mating, the impedance element signals a current capacity and enables resistance matching for discharging. FIG. 4B
