The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: Provided is an inter-vehicle distance control device (100) wherein: a driving force control unit (156) starts first control for reducing a driving force of a host vehicle (1) when an inter-vehicle distance identified by a distance identification unit (152) changes from a first distance to a second distance which is shorter than the first distance, and the second distance is not more than a first control execution start distance that has been set in advance as the distance at which the first control is started; and the driving force control unit (156) further starts second control for regulating the driving force of the host vehicle (1) so as not to exceed the driving force of the host vehicle (1) corresponding to the speed of a preceding vehicle (O) identified by a speed identification unit (154), when the inter-vehicle distance that has become the second distance becomes a third distance which is shorter than the second distance, and the third distance is a second control execution start distance that has been set in advance as the distance at which the second control is started.
