Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent waste bin system configured for automatic lid control, image-based waste recognition, multi-sensor fusion, adaptive waste verification, and automatic waste segregation. The system comprises a power supply unit, proximity sensor, camera module, metal sensor, moisture sensor, weight sensor, microcontroller unit, actuation module, display unit, and waste segregation compartments. The proximity sensor detects an approaching user and enables contactless opening of the lid through an automatic lid servo motor. After waste deposition, the camera module captures an image while the metal, moisture, and weight sensors acquire characteristics of the waste. The microcontroller combines the image information and sensor outputs to perform adaptive verification and determine a waste category. Based on the validated category, the actuation module operates a routing servo, stepper motor, conveyor, pusher, or gate actuator to direct the waste into wet, dry, metal, or unknown/reject compartments. The system thereby provides automated waste segregation.
