Abstract: INTELLIGENT SPEED BREAKER ENERGY HARVESTING & STORAGE SYSTEM FOR URBAN ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE ABSTRACT This invention presents an Intelligent Speed Breaker Energy Harvesting and Storage System for Urban Road Infrastructure, designed to convert the otherwise wasted mechanical energy of moving vehicles into usable electrical power. When a vehicle passes over the speed breaker, its weight produces a controlled downward displacement. This motion is transferred through a mechanical conversion unit, such as a rack-and-pinion and gear arrangement, to rotate a generator. The generated DC power is regulated and stored in a battery for later use. The system can support low-power urban applications such as street lighting, traffic signals, road warning indicators, sensors, and emergency backup devices. An intelligent control unit monitors power generation, storage level, load demand, and system performance, thereby improving efficiency and reliability. The invention is especially suitable for high-traffic areas including toll plazas, parking zones, school zones, industrial entrances, and urban intersections where vehicles already slow down. By integrating energy harvesting with smart storage and monitoring, the system offers a practical, eco-friendly, and space-saving solution for sustainable road infrastructure. It also reduces dependency on conventional grid supply for small roadside electrical loads.
