Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-enabled smart flexible wound dressing system for continuous, non-invasive wound monitoring and early infection prediction. The system comprises a flexible biocompatible dressing substrate integrated with flexible sensors for measuring wound temperature, pH, moisture, and optical color characteristics, with optional oxygen and pressure sensors. A signal conditioning unit performs amplification, calibration, analog-to-digital conversion, and noise filtering of sensor signals. An edge processing module comprising a low-power microcontroller, wireless communication interface, and memory processes the acquired data and executes a lightweight artificial intelligence model. Multi-sensor temporal data and personalized baseline information are analyzed to determine infection probability, healing score, urgency level, and dressing replacement recommendation. Adaptive sampling increases monitoring frequency when abnormal conditions are detected while reducing power consumption during normal conditions. The processed information is transmitted through Bluetooth Low Energy and/or Wi-Fi to a mobile application and optionally a cloud platform for remote monitoring and clinical assessment, enabling timely intervention and improved wound management.
