MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641073922 A) filed by Dr Mathew Chacko; and Dayananda Sagar University on June 15, 2026, for Intelligent Smart Insole And Wearable Sensor System For Ai-Based Osteoporosis Risk Stratification, Fragility Fracture Prediction, Fall Susceptibility Assessment, And Dexa-Triage Decision Support..

Inventors include Dr Mathew Chacko; Mr. Prahlad Sarnad; Dr. B V N Ramakumar; and Dr. Bondu Venkateswarlu.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The invention discloses an intelligent smart insole and wearable sensor system for AI-based osteoporosis risk stratification, fragility fracture prediction, fall susceptibility assessment, and DEXA-triage decision support. Biomechanical gait parameters, physiological measurements, and clinically relevant risk factors including hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, postmenopausal hormonal deficiency, vitamin D deficiency, and prior fragility fracture history are integrated through multi-modal data fusion. Machine-learning algorithms generate osteoporosis risk probabilities and targeted referral recommendations for DEXA evaluation. The invention provides a scalable, non-invasive, and clinically interpretable framework for population-level osteoporosis screening and preventive skeletal health monitoring.
