Abstract: ABSTRACT INTELLIGENT SKILL VERIFICATION AND TRUST ENGINE FOR MACHINE LEARNING -BASED CANDIDATE ASSESSMENT The present invention discloses an intelligent skill verification and trust engine system (100) for evidence-based candidate assessment in automated recruitment. The system (100) comprises an NLP-based resume parser (120) for extracting structured entities from candidate resumes, a GitHub API integration module (130) for retrieving behavioral evidence from code repositories including commit frequency, repository complexity, and language diversity, a feature extraction engine (140) for harmonising multi- source indicators into unified candidate feature vectors, and an XGBoost classification model (150) for computing a quantitative Skill Credibility Index. The system (100) further includes an asynchronous task processing module (160) employing Celery with Redis for scalable processing, a persistent storage module (170), a recruitment dashboard module (180), an active pipeline management module (185), and a live technical assessment module (190). The system achieves 88.4 percent skill detection accuracy and 91.2 percent discrepancy detection accuracy, processing one hundred and twenty profiles per minute. [
