Abstract: The rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) has enabled the development of smart surveillance and patrolling systems to enhance security, safety, and operational efficiency in critical environments. However, traditional patrolling methods often face challenges such as inefficient resource allocation, limited real-time monitoring, and delayed response to abnormal events. To address these issues, this paper proposes an Intelligent Resource Optimization and Anomaly Detection System for IoT- Based Smart Patrolling. The system leverages IoT-enabled devices, such as smart sensors, cameras, and unmanned vehicles, integrated with cloud/edge computing platforms for seamless data collection and processing. Machine learning-based optimization techniques are applied to dynamically allocate patrolling resources based on environmental conditions, risk zones, and resource availability. Furthermore, anomaly detection algorithms—using statistical and deep learning approaches— identify unusual activities, unauthorized access, or operational deviations in real-time. The proposed system not only improves patrolling efficiency by reducing redundant efforts but also enhances situational awareness and decision-making by providing early warnings. The integration of intelligent optimization and anomaly detection ensures energy-efficient operations, faster incident response, and scalable deployment across urban, industrial, and defense domains. This approach demonstrates significant potential in building proactive, adaptive, and reliable smart patrolling solutions for modern security infrastructures.
