MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641073805 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on June 14, 2026, for Intelligent Real-Time Password Strength Analyzer With Entropy Computation.
Inventors include Mohana Sundari L; Pynthamil Pavendan; and Astha Doshi.
The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.
Abstract: “INTELLIGENT REAL-TIME PASSWORD STRENGTH ANALYZER WITH ENTROPY COMPUTATION. An intelligent password strength analysis system operating client-side in real time on a keystroke basis is disclosed. The system comprises a Shannon entropy computation module that calculates character-pool-aware and positionally- weighted entropy; a crack-time estimation module modeling resistance across online, offline GPU, and nation-state ASIC attack profiles; a live adversarial attack simulation module rendering an animated, locally computed character guessing visualization proportional to estimated attack speed; a k-Anonymity- compliant breach correlation module querying breach corpora using only a SHA-1 hash prefix without transmitting the raw password; and a structural pattern detection module identifying keyboard walks, leet-speak substitutions, date embeddings, repetition clusters, and common word stems. All five modules operate simultaneously on the client side to feed a unified composite strength dashboard, providing immediate, privacy-preserving feedback with sub-50ms latency. [FIG. 2]
