Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent network security system and method for detecting cyber threats in real time using machine learning. The system collects network traffic, security device logs, endpoint logs, and threat intelligence data and converts them into features describing network behaviour. A hybrid machine learning engine, comprising a supervised classifier for known attacks, an unsupervised anomaly detector for unknown attacks, and a temporal sequence model for multi- stage attacks, processes the features. The model outputs are fused with threat intelligence context to produce a threat score, class, and confidence value. Based on the score, a response module applies mitigation actions to network elements such as firewalls, switches, and endpoints, either autonomously or after analyst approval. Outcomes and analyst feedback are returned to the engine, which is retrained and validated before deployment, so that detection adapts to new attack patterns and changing network behaviour.
