Abstract: Laboratories in educational institutions, research centres, and industrial environments frequently handle hazardous chemicals, electrical equipment, and temperature- sensitive processes. Lack of continuous monitoring and dependence on manual supervision can lead to unsafe conditions such as gas leakage, overheating, abnormal humidity which may result in accidents, equipment damage, or health risks. To address these challenges, the present project proposes an Intelligent Laboratory Safety Monitoring System that provides real-time detection of multiple laboratory hazard parameters using an integrated multi-sensor embedded architecture. The system continuously monitors environmental conditions through sensors and processes the data using a microcontroller-based control unit. Whenever any parameter exceeds predefined safety thresholds, the system instantly activates audio-visual alert mechanisms such as LEDs, buzzer alarms, and optional display notifications, enabling rapid preventive action. The design is compact, low-cost, and suitable for deployment in educational laboratories, research facilities, and small-scale industrial testing environments.Overall, the proposed intelligent safety monitoring system offers a cost-effective, scalable, and real-time laboratory protection solution that enhances safety awareness, minimizes accident risks, and supports the transition toward smart laboratory infrastructure.
