Abstract: The present invention relates to the development of an Intelligent Internet of Things (IoT) based Health Monitoring and Risk Assessment System that facilitates real- time collection, analysis, and prediction of patient’s health conditions. The IoT system is composed of wearables biomedical sensors, edge computing gateway, cloud computing and Artificial Intelligence algorithms which will continuously monitor health physiological parameters such as heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, respiration rate, oxygen saturation, electrocardiogram and physical activities. These data collected from these sensors undergoes preprocessing in the edge computing gateway before being transferred securely to cloud computing infrastructure where machine learning algorithms perform risk assessment and health predictions. A clinical decision support component provides personalized health information while the emergency alert component sends alerts to healthcare professionals and caregivers whenever there are abnormal conditions detected.
