Abstract: Abstract The subject of the invention is a smart IoT waste collection and resource optimization system designed to automate and revolutionize the waste management process. The waste management system employs smart waste bins equipped with multi-sensors to monitor these bins for waste level, presence of waste, and waste characteristics. The sensor packages send data through a fine data power network to the waste analytics system, an AI driven cloud computing facility, for advanced data analytics to forecast waste generation, waste analytics to determine collection frequency and collection timetable The waste management system improves the scheduling of waste collection through real-time analytics, cloud computing, and AI optimized machine learning models to craft new collection schedules. Deep learning reinforcement models on the cloud optimize fuel consumption of collection systems through real-time analytics for a predetermined collection route. The invention incorporates, for the first time, the autonomous segregation of waste using machine learning to classify and segregate recyclable, organic, and non-recyclable waste. Advanced control and optimization systems on the smart waste system enhance the communications of the system and improve the response of the system. Overall, the invention shows how to combine IoT with machine learning and real time data processing to optimize automated waste systems for smart cities and other urban, commercial, and industrial systems.
