Inventors include Dr. C. Ganesh; Mr. D. Chandru; Ms. S. Shobiha; and Mr. B. Yaswanth.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an Intelligent IoT-Based Wearable System for Real-Time Spinal Posture Monitoring and Adaptive Pain Relief. The invention provides an intelligent wearable device that monitors spinal posture in real time and relieves pain using electromyography (EMG) sensors, flex sensors, a microcontroller, a vibration feedback mechanism, and a controlled heat therapy module. The EMG sensors monitor muscle activity and detect muscle strain, while the flex sensors continuously detect incorrect posture and spinal movement. The microcontroller processes the sensor data and activates a vibration motor to alert the user for posture correction and a heat pad to relieve pain caused by muscle strain. A temperature sensor continuously monitors the heating pad to ensure safe operation by preventing overheating. The acquired data are transmitted to a cloud-based server and displayed through a web-based application for monitoring spinal health reports, posture history, and wellness. The wearable system is lightweight, energy- efficient, portable, and suitable for continuous use during daily activities. The proposed invention enables early detection of spinal problems, promotes healthy posture habits, provides adaptive pain relief, and offers an integrated solution for real-time spinal health monitoring and preventive healthcare.
