Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is an intelligent home monitoring and access control system comprising a premises monitoring assembly configured to capture video data from a household environment, an image processing unit configured to extract and preprocess image frames from said video data, an activity classification module configured to classify a detected activity as a normal activity or an abnormal activity, a notification interface configured to transmit an alert and event imagery to a user device upon detection of said abnormal activity, a visitor verification unit configured to capture visitor imagery at an entrance location, and an access control unit operatively connected to a door locking mechanism. Said access control unit actuates said door locking mechanism in response to a user authorization command received after transmission of said visitor imagery to said user device.
