MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101501 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 22, 2026, for Intelligent Gas Stove Safety Monitoring System.

Inventors include Dr. Rohin Gupta; Tanay Raj; and Aviral Trivedi.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent gas stove safety monitoring system configured to identify hazardous operating conditions by continuously evaluating the relationship between the operational state of a gas regulator and the combustion state of a burner. The system comprises a controller unit, a regulator state sensing assembly, a flame sensing assembly, an alert generation module, and a power supply module. The controller executes a multi-state monitoring algorithm including standby, ignition verification, active cooking supervision, hazardous operation, and recovery states. If a flame is not established within a predefined ignition verification interval while the regulator remains open, or if an established flame is extinguished during operation, the system identifies a hazardous condition and activates the alert generation module. The invention performs state-based hazard detection without relying on ambient gas concentration sensors or residual heat sensing and is suitable for integration into new or existing domestic gas stoves.
