Abstract: It relates to an Intelligent Elevator Stop Optimization System that optimizes the efficiency, energy-saving and reliability of vertical transportation systems by verifying passenger's presence in real-time. Typical elevator systems are set to stop on all the floors that may have had a requesting passenger, whether the passenger stayed on the floor or left it to close the door. Elevator systems are usually programmed to service all the floors for which a hall call was taken, whether the passenger had remained there or had left the elevator floor to close the door, leading to nonproductive stops, wasted time, additional energy use, and accelerated mechanical wear. The invention resolves this by providing a sensor network including infrared sensors, cameras, pressure sensors and wireless identification sensors (BLE) to be used to detect a continued passenger waiting in the elevator prior to opening the elevator doors. If a passenger has left the waiting area (hall) or has been attended to by another elevator within an installation with two or more elevators, the system will automatically cancel the elevator call address, and will complete the trip without halting. The invention also includes a coordination mechanism between multiple elevators and a central controller for determining if a particular hall call has already been fulfilled by at least one of the elevators to avoid redundant stops within the elevator group. The integration of sensor-based passenger detection with intelligent decision algorithms and the coordination between elevators into a single control system revolutionize the use of the elevators, offering substantial benefits in terms of higher payloads, improved energy efficiency, and a lasting life for elevators, making the invention ideal for every building that aims to reduce or eliminate energy consumption.
