MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641069430 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology, Ramapuram; and Easwari Engineering College on June 03, 2026, for Intelligent Edge-Enabled System For Microgrid Energy Management.

Inventors include Dr. R. Angeline; Kausiq S R; Aathithiya Balaji K; Nawin Raju A S; Dr. V. Jananee; and Dr. A. Senthilselvi.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: Abstract: The application seeks to develop and deploy an autonomous microgrid system with edge capabilities for intelligent management of renewable energy. It keeps an eye on and oversees a regional energy network made up of electrical loads, energy storage devices, and renewable energy sources. Using embedded sensors, the system continuously gathers electrical data from the microgrid's components in real time, including voltage, current, and power. It uses edge-deployed artificial intelligence models to forecast electricity demand and renewable energy production in the near future. The application automatically chooses the best power management strategies, such as load prioritization, battery charging and discharging, and power source selection, based on these predictions. Without depending on cloud connectivity, the application uses an embedded controller to carry out real-time control through switching devices. Compared to traditional manually operated and reactive energy systems, this innovation allows proactive energy management, lowers energy waste, avoids power outages, and increases the efficiency and dependability of renewable energy utilization.
