The application for the patent was published on October 23, 2026, under issue no. 43/2026.

Abstract: This specification describes a self-contained, battery-powered, retrofit door handle apparatus for detecting human fall events inside a closed room and automatically enabling emergency access. The apparatus integrates a vibration sensing module (100) with a tri-axial MEMS accelerometer (110) and piezoelectric vibration sensor (120), an acoustic sensing module (200) with a dual MEMS microphone array (210), and a processing module (400) executing a multi-sensor fusion fall classification model (450) on a low-power microcontroller (410). A post-fall activity monitoring module (300) with passive infrared (310) and radar micro-motion (320) sensors confirms falls by detecting absence of post-impact activity over a configurable timeout. Upon confirmed detection, an electromagnetic lock release mechanism (510) automatically unlocks the door, and an emergency alert module (600) dispatches tiered notifications via Wi-Fi (610), Bluetooth (620), and GSM/4G cellular (630) to pre-registered contacts. The apparatus requires no building modification, no wearable device, and no cameras.
