Abstract: ABSTRACT INTELLIGENT DISTRIBUTED SURVEILLANCE NETWORK WITH ADAPTIVE EVIDENCE ESCALATION The present invention relates to an intelligent distributed surveillance network comprising independently operable surveillance nodes configured to detect, verify, and report security incidents without external intervention. Each surveillance node is assigned a Unique Surveillance Node Identifier (USNI) and performs edge-based analytics on camera-captured data. Upon detecting a potential security incident, an initiating surveillance node generates an alert and requests verification from neighbouring surveillance nodes, each of which independently analyses the event. A hybrid consensus mechanism combining majority voting with weighted confidence evaluation determines whether the alert is valid. When a predetermined confidence threshold is satisfied, the system automatically escalates evidence collection by increasing image resolution, frame rate, audio quality, and other camera-based evidence-collection capabilities. The verified alert is then compiled and transmitted to relevant emergency authorities for appropriate action. Figure.1
