Abstract: The present invention, titled "Intelligent Container Search and Tracking System Using AI-Based Identification and GPS Location Assignment", relates to an automated system for real-time identification and three-dimensional location assignment of shipping containers using artificial intelligence and computer vision on Container Handling Equipment. Upon detection of a container handling event, the system triggers image capture of the container identification panel, processes it through a trained convolutional neural network to extract the container identification number, and simultaneously records GPS coordinates and a distance sensor reading to automatically derive the container's complete location expressed as zone, block, row, bay, and tier within the facility yard, all without manual input from the equipment operator. The assembled data record is transmitted to a centralized processing server (80) which continuously updates a spatial database (100) in real time. Authorised users can instantly retrieve any container's precise location, timestamp, and photographic evidence of identification by querying through any identifier including container number, booking reference, or consignee name. The system operates on on-premise infrastructure, incorporates automatic buffering during connectivity interruptions, and supports optional cloud synchronisation for multi-facility operations, delivering a fully automated, auditable, and error-free container tracking solution for ports, container yards, and inland logistics facilities.
