Abstract: Intelligent Cluster-Based Energy Management System for Smart Farming Sensor Networks The present invention relates to an intelligent cluster-based energy management system for smart farming sensor networks. The system includes multiple sensor nodes deployed in an agricultural field for monitoring parameters including soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and crop conditions. The sensor nodes are organized into clusters based on residual energy, node proximity, and distance to a base station. An optimization engine performs adaptive cluster head selection and cluster head rotation through iterative fitness evaluation to balance energy consumption among the sensor nodes. The system further enables intra-cluster and inter-cluster communication using single-hop or multi-hop transmission based on communication distance. An energy management layer performs sleep scheduling, transmission power adaptation, data aggregation, and residual energy monitoring to reduce communication overhead and energy consumption. The proposed system improves communication efficiency, reduces packet delay, and increases network lifetime in smart farming wireless sensor networks.
