MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101532 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 22, 2026, for Intelligent Automated Grinding And Compounding System With Integrated Sensors.

Inventors include Rajwant Kaur; and Manisha Bhatti.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-enabled smart mortar and pestle system integrated with digital pressure sensing technology for real-time monitoring and optimization of grinding, mixing, trituration, and compounding operations. The system comprises a mortar body, pestle assembly, pressure sensors, signal-processing unit, digital display, wireless communication module, and smart feedback system. During operation, the pressure sensors detect applied grinding force and transmit corresponding signals to the processing unit for analysis. The system provides real-time information regarding grinding pressure, force variation, processing duration, and consistency through visual, haptic, or audio feedback. Grinding data may be transmitted and stored through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity. Optional AI-assisted analytics may evaluate historical and real-time data to recommend optimized grinding parameters. The invention enhances reproducibility, precision, process standardization, quality control, and documentation across pharmaceutical, laboratory, nutraceutical, cosmetic, and food-processing applications.
