MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641096867 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on August 11, 2026, for Intelligent Augmented Reality Smart Glasses With Adaptive Peripheral Vision Enhancement For Motorcycle Riders.

Inventors include Praveen T; Divyadharshini R; and Vaishnavi R.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT INTELLIGENT AUGMENTED REALITY SMART GLASSES WITH ADAPTIVE PERIPHERAL VISION ENHANCEMENT FOR MOTORCYCLE RIDERS Intelligent augmented reality smart glasses (100) for a motorcycle rider comprise a frame (102), a left ultra-wide-angle camera (104) and a right ultra-wide- angle camera (106) carried on opposite sides of the frame (102) and capturing a combined field of view of approximately 220 to 270 degrees, a millimetre-wave radar (108), an inertial measurement unit (110), an eye-tracking sensor (114), a physiological sensing module (118), a positioning receiver (112), an augmented reality display (138) within a forward field of view of the rider, and an edge artificial intelligence processor (120). The edge artificial intelligence processor (120) fuses sensor information into a unified situational awareness model, assigns a contextual priority to each detected object, computes a time-to-collision, determines a quantity, priority, position and duration for augmented reality information, and generates a compressed representation spanning approximately 180 degrees in which selected detected objects are remapped into the forward field of view and remaining detected objects are suppressed.
