Abstract: ABSTRACT The project under consideration is an AI-powered traffic management system which utilizes simulation tools to optimize traffic light changes and reduce traffic density in a given area. The study uses Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO) and Python programming language to design an adaptive control algorithm which reduces traffic congestion and improves overall traffic light performance. The algorithm runs on the Traffic Control Interface (TraCI) and makes adjustments to adapt to the changing traffic conditions. This approach will provide a framework for developing advanced traffic management systems and smarter cities of the future.
