MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641115385 A) filed by Sri Eshwar College Of Engineering on September 24, 2026, for Intelligent Adaptive Image Processing System Using Multi-Scale Feature Fusion For Image Enhancement, Segmentation, And Object Recognition.
Inventor includes Ms. D. Ramya.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent adaptive image processing system for enhancing image quality, segmenting image regions, and recognizing objects using multi-scale feature fusion. The system receives an input image and performs adaptive preprocessing based on image characteristics including noise, illumination, contrast, resolution, and structural information. An adaptive enhancement module selectively performs noise reduction, contrast enhancement, illumination correction, sharpening, and edge-preserving operations. A multi-scale feature extraction module extracts image features at different spatial resolutions to capture fine details, edges, textures, contours, shapes, and contextual information. An adaptive feature fusion module assigns relevance-based weights to the extracted features and combines the features to generate a comprehensive fused representation. The fused representation is utilized by a segmentation module to identify regions of interest and by an object recognition module to classify objects present in the segmented regions. An adaptive decision module evaluates segmentation and recognition confidence and dynamically modifies processing parameters when the obtained output does not satisfy predefined quality or confidence conditions. The integrated approach enables improved preservation of image details, accurate region identification, robust object recognition, and adaptive processing under varying image conditions such as noise, low illumination, poor contrast, complex backgrounds, and varying object sizes. The invention is applicable to surveillance, medical imaging, industrial inspection, intelligent transportation, remote sensing, agriculture, security, and other automated image analysis applications.
