Abstract: The present invention relates to a multimodal cloud-edge attendance verification system and method integrating biometric authentication, dynamic GPS-based geographical validation, and localized artificial intelligence processing for secure attendance management. A teacher computing device establishes a dynamic GPS anchor, while a student computing device simultaneously captures a live facial image and geographical coordinates. An edge compute module extracts biometric feature embeddings, performs facial authentication, and calculates proximity relative to the dynamic GPS anchor before validating attendance. Verified attendance records are synchronized with a cloud management platform for centralized management and real-time monitoring. The system further supports continuous attendance verification during virtual sessions through periodic biometric snapshots without continuous video streaming. Administrative modifications require secure multi-factor re- authentication and are permanently recorded within an immutable audit trail. The invention minimizes proxy attendance, reduces processing latency, preserves biometric privacy, and provides reliable attendance verification for physical, hybrid, and virtual learning environments.
