MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641078134 A) filed by Saveetha Engineering College on June 24, 2026, for Integrating Sentiment Analysis With Machine Learning For Cyberbullying Detection On Social Media.

Inventors include Dr. Anitha Julian; Mr. Thirunavukkarasu P; and Mr. Sanjay T.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a CyberBullying Sentiment Analysis (CBSA) framework that integrates sentiment analysis, natural language processing, machine learning, and behavioral intelligence for real-time cyberbullying detection on social media platforms. The system collects and preprocesses textual communications, extracts emotional and contextual features, and evaluates sentiment polarity and intensity to identify harmful interactions. Machine learning models classify content into categories including normal communication, offensive language, harassment, hate speech, and cyberbullying. A risk assessment module determines bullying severity based on emotional toxicity, repetition patterns, and targeting behavior. Upon detection, automated alerts and intervention recommendations are generated for moderators, parents, institutions, or platform administrators. The system supports multilingual communication analysis, continuous model learning, and cloud-based deployment. By combining sentiment-aware contextual understanding with intelligent classification techniques, the invention significantly improves cyberbullying detection accuracy, reduces online harassment, promotes digital safety, and protects users from psychological harm in online environments.
