Abstract: The system is constructed by arranging multiple heat sink units. Each heat sink unit is composed o f two TECs and four aluminium heat sink plates (two inner and two outer) and an adapter. Fluid flows in the channels o f the inner part o f the heat sink unit (created by welding two inner heat sinks together— which we call “ fin to fin welded"). Whereas the TEC is sandwiched between the (welded) inner and outer heat sinks. This unit is repeated in parallel in a 3x3x3 grid pattern to form the entire'pipe structure. The channels o f the welded heat sink unit are connected to circular pipes through a square-to-circular adapter. Coolant enters through one opening, transferring heat to or from the thermoelectric coolers (TECs), and exits through the other opening. The coolant enters the structure, splits into three parallel paths, and collects all the heat from the TECs (in cooling mode) or transfers all the heat to the TECs (in heating mode), and the coolant from different paths combines to form a single outlet. The coolant is cooled (in cooling mode) or heated (in heating mode) using the radiator, which is placed'outside the space. TECs actively transfer heat between the inner and outer heat sinks by supplying an electric current. The direction ol heat transferred can be reversed by changing the polarity o f the current, hence switching between heating and cooling modes. No components are physically swapped to change between the modes. In cooling mode, the system transfers heat from the room to the coolant through the heat sink-units, which is circulated and dissipated through radiators with fan assistance. In heating mode, the heat from the outside atmosphere and heat generated through the internal resistance o f the TECs is transferred to the room through the heat sinks with fan assistance. The parallelly cascaded TECs improve efficiency, achieving a Coefficient o f Performance (COP) close to J in cooling and greater than 1 in heating, outperforming conventional resistive heaters. The system also includes smart thermal sensors that monitor temperatures and adjust the number o f active TECs based on the temperature difference (AT), conserving power while maintaining comfort.
