The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The titled invention discloses an integrated desalination system designed to produce purified water and recover salt from saline or geothermal brine using renewable energy sources. The system includes a geothermal production well (1) that extracts geothermal brine and supplies it to a heat exchanger (2) for thermal energy utilization. A turbine-generator unit (3) associated with the heat exchanger generates electrical energy, while the working fluid is cooled through a condenser (4) and cooling tower (5). The brine is conditioned in a pretreatment unit (6) and heated using a solar thermal collector or heater (7) before entering an Air Gap Membrane Distillation module (8). A hydrophobic membrane and air gap section (9) within the AGMD module allow selective diffusion of water vapour, which condenses on a cooled, surf ace maintained by a chiller (10) to produce purified permeate water collected through outlet (11). The remaining concentrated brine stream (12) is directed to a crystallizer unit (13) for salt crystallization, while minimal residual brine is managed through an injection well or disposal line (14). The invention provides a hybrid renewable energy driven desalination system capable of purified water production, salt recovery, and near zero liquid discharge operation. Figure-1
