Abstract: The present invention discloses a Integrated Smart Medication Dispensing And Monitoring System (100) configured to provide automated medication management, scheduled dose dispensing, dose verification, missed-dose recovery, and patient and caregiver notification. The dispenser comprises a medication carousel (104) having multiple medication compartments, a dose escrow chamber (105) for temporarily holding the dispensed medication, an emergency medication compartment (106), a speaker/buzzer (107), and a recovery chamber (108) for uncollected medication. The dispenser further comprises an electronic control arrangement (109, 110) including a microcontroller (111), communication, memory, timing, power management, and interface components. When medication is due, the selected dose is dispensed into the dose escrow chamber (105), and the patient receives a reminder. If the medication is not taken within a predetermined time, the uncollected dose is moved to the recovery chamber (108) and an alert message is sent to the designated caregiver. The system also provides emergency notification and patient alerts through the integrated communication arrangement. The invention thereby provides an integrated system for scheduled medication dispensing, dose verification, missed-dose recovery, secure medication handling, and caregiver awareness.
