MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621073644 A) filed by Ankur Jain; and Anindita Tiwari on June 13, 2026, for Integrated Multi-Layer Safety Architecture For Direct High-Voltage Direct-Current Battery Energy Storage Systems.
Inventor includes Ankur Jain.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT INTEGRATED MULTI-LAYER SAFETY ARCHITECTURE FOR DIRECT HIGH-VOLTAGE DIRECT-CURRENT BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS The present invention relates to a direct high-voltage battery energy storage system (100) comprising a plurality of battery modules (102) connected in series to provide a grid-level direct-current output voltage, a voltage-control subsystem (104), a thermal-control subsystem (106), a fault-containment subsystem (108), and a cell-health monitoring subsystem (110). The voltage-control subsystem (104) maintains cell voltage differentials within 10–30 mV, the thermal- control subsystem (106) maintains substantially uniform cell temperatures using a dielectric cooling medium and thermal isolation gaps, the cell-health monitoring subsystem (110) identifies degradation conditions using internal resistance measurements, and the fault-containment subsystem (108) isolates faulted battery regions while permitting continued operation of non-faulted portions of the battery system. A method (200) comprises generating (202) a direct-current output voltage, limiting (204) voltage imbalance, maintaining (206) thermal uniformity, monitoring (208) degradation parameters, identifying (210) degradation conditions, isolating (212) faulted regions, and continuing (214) battery system operation. FIG. 1 will be the reference figure.
