Abstract: A modular rodent housing system (100) comprises a collapsible cage structure (102) with foldable walls (104) and roof section (106), configurable between expanded and collapsed positions; a C-shaped detachable head restraint flap (108) with quick-lock mechanism and adjustable silicon screws (110); a movable intra-cage separator (112) for flexible partitioning; and a pull-out tray (114) for waste removal. The cage features hinged joints (116), lightweight materials, ventilation openings (124), and smoothed edges for rodent safety. The system improves laboratory animal handling through innovative design that enables efficient setup, secure but comfortable restraint, adaptable internal configuration, and easy maintenance, while enhancing animal welfare during experimental procedures. The method of operation includes unfolding and securing the structure, positioning the rodent, attaching the restraint mechanism, configuring the separator as needed, and maintaining hygiene through the removable tray system.
